武神頑駄無 Bushin Gundam

Today we are going to check out Bushin(Martial God) Gundam.  He is really not a god, the name Bushin is more like a nickname.  He is also the first Chinese warrior character in the BB senshi series, well technically Musha Zeta is also Chiense, but he has converted to the Musha style so he doesn't count.

Bushin's arsenal, closer range weapons, bow and arrow, spring loaded weapon, armor, AND a shield.  Pretty much you name it, he's got it.

Bushin from the front, I used a darker green on his shoulder and hair and it didn't turn out well.

Bushin from behind.  Oh well, the color will not be visible once he wears the armor anyway.
Bushin no Yoroi(Martial God armor).  It seems like Bushin's armor doesn't have any special force behind it, it's just a plain old armor and weapon he gathered together.

 Bushin Gundam, fully equipped mode.

The big sword seems to be his main weapon.

And you can remove the top and it becomes a hidden sword.

Crossbow, this is one of the few weapons that use arrow headed missile.

Hajya no Yumi(Evil's bane), this is the bow they use to help the first general to get his power.
Love the reflection on his horn.
Time to try the crossbow out.

It was surprising easy to aim, I was hoping the bullet would get stuck in the dummy's chest tho.

Musha Hyakushiki 武者百士貴

Since I already got my hand on Musha Gundam, I might as well just get all the cool samurai I used to be fond of as a child.  Today we will check out Musha Hyakushiki.

Unlike the other Musha, Hyakushiki does not have a light armored mode.  However, this kit comes with extra parts so we can choose to put it together as Hyakushiki or his younger brother Hyakimaru.
The weapons are the three katanas, two shoulder mounted blades and two spring loaded guns.

This is one of the VERY FEW kits that has a fully plated body.  Which makes taking pictures a bit difficult.

 Hyakushiki from behind.

by switching the head, shoulder armor and chest plate......

We get Hyakimaru!  Of course, painting is also needed, but you will need an extra kit for that.

I like Hyakushiki better, so I will keep him this way and let him inherit all the weapons.

The two guns can be combined and for a double rifle.

 Hyakushiki's katana, Monohoshisago.

This set of dual swords originally belong to Hyakimaru.

 Shooting range time.

Lately I am finding these guys difficult to aim.  Humm........

Musha Gundam ムシャガンダム

I know, at the very first post I said I am not going to touch the samurai series, but when I was this one on sale in one of the site I visit, I just couldn't help but to click on the "add to cart" button.  I mean, com'on, this one is a classic!  How can I possibly resist?  Anyway, a bit on the history.  Musha Gundam was an original character from one of the comic book "PURAMO KYOSHIROU".  It got so popular and got released as a BB senshi.  However, the popularity did not stop there!  This character have proved to be so popular, that Bandai ended up creating a whole Musha series for all the gundams.  So it is reasonable to say this is the great great grandfather to all the Musha and Sangoku gundam series.

As a lad I never got this kit for some reason, so this time I get a chance to finish it makes me very happy.  Musha has his own armor, two melee weapon and a spring loaded gun.

Naginata, this is a pole weapon standard to the ancient Japanese soldiers.

Musha from behind,  The base color of this kit is just red and white, so it takes a lot of time to pain it, but at least the color stays on well.

Tanegashima rifle,  this is a type of matchlock gun for feudal Japan.

As suggest by the box art, this light armored mode is suppose to depict a common foot soldier instead of a specific character.

The armor stand.  I used the gold from Gundam Markers, and it came out very nice.

 Full armored Musha Gundam.

 Full armored Musha from behind

The sword case for the katana is a nice touch.

Musha ready for battle.

The armor and limited joints makes it difficult to pose, but that goes for all the earlier BB senshi.

 Shooting range time.

With the helmet!  That's right, the helmet is a spring loaded weapon as well!  Of course it doesn't fly far, but it is easy to aim.  I love these goofy gimmicks for the earlier BB senshi kits.

An attempt to use the powered up rifle broke one of the ONLY two missile in half.  ;_;

GF13-017NJII G-Gundam ゴッドガンダム

I was lucky enough to be able to get my hand on the original BB#138 version of G-Gundam.  Back in the days the model kit designer seems to had some more creative freedom, and they DEFINITELY had a more playful mind.  Thanks to that, we got some totally unrelated items to the animation and it is totally awesome!

G-Gundam have no shield, but I am happy that he has two swords, and a spring loaded weapon.

 The core.......glider?

 Gundam Fight, ready............

 Go!

 G-Gundam, Normal Mode.

Like all other MF, G-Gundam can strike a few more pose, but the extra part under the should gets in the way ALL THE TIME.

 G-Slash.

Duel Sword Fighter?  I remember in Super Robot Wars, he mainly spins around with the two swords, so it is not clear whether he really knows how to wield two swords or not.

Super Mode, the two claws on the arms are lifted up, and we replaced the core glider with the clear parts, plus we changed the chest plate and loaded the King of Hearts symbol.

Super Mode from a different angle.

 Super Mode from behind.

Crystal Phoenix, this is G-Gundam's BB original support craft when he is not in super mode.

You can also snap the core glider in the middle and create this.

Replace the center with phoenix head, and open up the shoulder, and the Crystal Phoenix Mode is completed.

Once the shoulder is opened, the arms can move around with a bit more ease, but this time, the clear parts from behind is in the way..

 G-Gundam's fully equipped mode.

 To the shooting range.

The phoenix head is heavy, so it doesn't fly far, but it hits hard.
