AMS-119 Geara Doga (Char's counter attack set) ギラ ドーガ

This time, I will formally start the Char's Counter Attack Set. As you might have notice, I built the Jegan on the first review, so it is time to complete the rest.

This set comes with eight MS, and the box art is an SD version of the original movie's poster, the box is huge too, so I was pretty surprised when I got it in mail.

Geara Doga comes in two different color in this set, the purple is a custom machine for some character in the movie, but the two units are identical. They have a pretty impressive arsenal too.

...from behind

For some reason, Zeon's MS all look bad ass.

equipped with the lazer multi-tool.

I can be use as an axe, a pointy digging tool.

AND swords, I need to get myself one of these for Christmas.

The projectile weapon for them is the shield grenade launcher. Yet another one of my favorite BB senshi weapon. On top of leaving both hands free, it can hold and fire TWO bullets.

Let's see what this baby can do. We will use the Guncannon dummy as the target. Ready, aim.........

FIRE! Missed the first shot due to my poor aim, the second shot knocked dummy off the ground.

The paint job was relatively easy, and the built and weapons are really cool, so this turned out to be a really fun kit to built and play with.

RX-77 GunCannon ガンキャノン

This time we will be back to the Earth Federation's MS. The RX-77 GunCannon.

This is one of the original three main MS in the original Gundam series. It is designed to be heavily armed and specialized in mid range support.

True to its root, this guy has NO close quarter weapon, instead he has SIXTEEN bullets, the most of any BB senshi I have came across, so he won't run out of ammo and allow anyone to come close. Also included is the parts for the RX-77 heavy weapon type.

"Face, Off". It will forever be a mystery why they would think this is a good gimmick for a SD character.

Guncannon with the spray missile launcher, they use clear plastic for this eyes, which is a very nice touch.

Dummybot, he holds all the spare parts that you don't use.

Guncannon with his 204 mm cannons. These are his main projectile weapons in this kit.

In my version, he wears the shoulder pads. For some reason shoulder pads make them look stronger.

Armed!

ready, aim...........fire!

The bullets can go to a pretty impressive range

This kit is one of the few kits that has 3 spring loaded weapon. With the clear plastic goggle and face open mode, it is one of the most playable kit in the early time.

MS-14B Gelgoog ゲルググ

I have slacked off a few weeks, so this time I will update a few. First will be the Zeon MS, Gelgoog.

This is one of my favorite MS of all time, it kind of reminds me of a medieval knight.

This kit comes with customizable parts so you can choose to set it up as the classic Gelgoog, Regelgoog or Johnny Ridden's Gelgoog. It has a pretty impressive arsenal when you lay them out.

This is the class Gelgoog form.

The tiny shield is probably not going to protect him much, but it looks good for the shooting pose.

Zeon MS all look Badass.

This is the Regelgoog style, changing just the shoulder pads makes him look even more badass, and of course I let him equipped his spinning double sword.

Really compromised on the painting for this guy, but he looks good with minimal painting anyway.

The other backpack didn't fit well, I probably will have to glue it on if I really want it. Oh well, until the day I find a real run that fits him, this will be left in the reserve.

And the most surprising feature of this guy, the right hand has a tiny rubber band in it, so the sword can actually spin! AWESOME!

Gelgoog's projectile weapon, the grenade launcher. The one of the right hand is the "actual" to scale size, the one on the left hand is the functional size.

Since the grenade launcher is mounted on the forearm, that leaves his hands free to carry other weapons, and if you have a second kit, you can even equip him with two of this baby(ies).

A trial shot, the bullet is tiny, so it goes to a pretty decent distance with the original BB spring.

The Zeon MS usually have bolder design, I guess unlike the Gundams, they don't have to be in the viewer's face at all time, so their job is to create the surprise element in bursts and thus giving them more creative freedom to do non-standard thing. This is actually a very good trend when it comes to toys.
